Employee Referrals

TJJD has a generous employee referral program. If you currently work for TJJD and know someone who is qualified for an open position and would be a great fit in our culture, encourage them to apply.

The Employee Referral Program is designed to aid in the recruitment and retention of quality employees by encouraging current TJJD employees to refer individuals for open positions within the agency. To participate in this program, the applicant and current employee complete the appropriate sections of the Employee Referral of Applicant for Employment form. If the referred applicant is selected for employment, the referring TJJD employee will receive a $100.00 gift card.

Eligibility

Current employees that are in a vacant position’s line of supervision are not eligible to refer applicants to the vacant position. A human resources employee or an HR recruiter whose essential job functions include the recruitment of applicants for employment is also ineligible for the award.

Current and/or former TJJD employees or former employees of the Texas Juvenile Probation Commission or the Texas Youth Commission are not eligible to be “referred” applicants.

Classification Department

The HR Classification Department provides technical and administrative support for agency compensation and classification functions through the efficient and ethical delivery of crucial data and information by ensuring compliance with federal and state laws governing the State of Texas employee classification program.

The Classification Department develops and maintains job descriptions for all TJJD positions, maintains the compensation structure and salary determinations for career ladders and career path placements; monitors and analyzes workforce data including customized reports; and maintains the position management structure within TJJD, such as position numbers, job code information and supervisor reporting assignments.

For more information, send an email to the HR Classification team at tjjd-hrclassification@tjjd.texas.gov.

Employee Relations Department

The HR Employee Relations Department provides technical and administrative support for agency inquiries relating to program deliverables by providing accurate and timely information of crucial data and information.

The Employee Relations Department also provides guidance and coordination efforts relating to TJJD program deliverables including the disciplinary process; open record requests; verification of employment inquiries; Texas Workforce Commission claims and reporting; and SORM workers’ compensation coordination and reporting.
