Public Complaints

To file a public complaint, please email tjjd-publiccomplaints@tjjd.texas.gov.

TJJD addresses complaints received from the public regarding services TJJD provides to the youth in its care. TJJD also addresses complaints involving a code of ethics violation or allegations of abuse, neglect, or exploitation involving juvenile probation department and facility personnel and juvenile boards. TJJD does not address other complaints about juvenile boards or juvenile probation department personnel – those should be addressed to the local chief juvenile probation officer or board chair. Complaints regarding judges should be addressed to the State Commission on Judicial Conduct (www.scjc.texas.gov). Complaints about attorneys should be addressed to the State Bar of Texas (www.texasbar.com).
