Allocation of State Funds to Local Communities
The Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) works in partnership with local juvenile boards and juvenile probation departments to support and enhance juvenile probation services throughout the state. To accomplish this goal, TJJD allocates funds through contracts to juvenile boards for the operation of their probation departments’ programs and services for troubled youth and their families. TJJD is the primary agency through which state funds for community-based juvenile justice system programs and services are channeled to the counties.
