Job Description
Applications are now being accepted for a Director of Training and Compliance with Randall County Juvenile Services/Youth Center of the High Plains. This position may require some nights, weekends and holidays. Submission to a drug test, psychological exam, and background check is required. Randall County is an E.O.E.

DEFINITION
This position involves providing program and other requested training for new and existing detention, residential, probation, and maintaining compliance with TJJD standards and thorough preparation for state audits. This position also assists the personnel director with screening and interviewing job applicants, conducting reference checks, updating Policies and Procedures, and other duties as assigned.

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
• One year’s experience delivering training
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications (including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)

Preferred:
• Three year’s experience in juvenile justice profession
• Knowledge of the Youth Center of the High Plains programming
• Knowledge of juvenile law
• Knowledge of adult learning skills and the ability to train professionals
• Knowledge of Rational Behavior Training (RBT) and behavior modification

Essential duties and responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and classroom program training for new and existing staff, maintaining consistency with departmental mission, goals, and philosophy
• Assist with orientation of new staff, including mentoring/training program
• Develop and schedule an annual training calendar for staff
• Maintain compliance with TJJD standards and thorough preparation for state audits
• Submit for employee certification through Texas Juvenile Justice Department

Licenses or Certificates:
• Current Texas driver’s license (and insurable)
• CPR/First Aid and approved restraint facilitators certification (or ability to become certified)
• Juvenile probation and juvenile detention officer certification (or ability to become certified)
• Training for Trainers certification (or ability to become certified)
